On Wednesday, May 4th, 2016 at the Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton, the 4th Annual Be Brave Luncheon took place to raise vital funds for Little Warriors and the Be Brave Ranch. 715 guests were ushered to their seats by our fabulous volunteer team of Starbucks employees from around Edmonton and area. Our friend and long time Little Warriors supporter Dianne Young, did a fabulous job emceeing the event. Jon Carson, MLA for Edmonton-Meadowlark brought greetings from the Government of Alberta and Michael Oshry Ward 5 City Councillor brought greetings from the Mayor of Edmonton. Our friend Lois Ferguson said Grace prior to a scrumptious lunch being served.

Glori Meldrum, founder and chair of Little Warriors addressed the guests and shared her story, her dream and her passion for Little Warriors. Dr. Jacqui Linder, the Clinical Director of the Be Brave Ranch then delivered a power point presentation to share the results of the clinical data collection project that has been completed at the Be Brave Ranch. Dr. Linder was presented with a Hero Award for all of her work she has done for the Little Warriors Be Brave Ranch.

And then on to the keynote address. As Carol Todd told her story about tragically losing her daughter Amanda to cyberbulling, there was barely a dry eye in the room. Carol has lived through every parents' worse nightmare. She shared a message of hope and staying strong. The crowd offered a standing ovation when Carol was done giving her address. Glori Meldrum then invited Trinity Fuhr to the stage to present Carol with a Be Brave Award and to thank her for Staying Strong and Being Brave.

A special slide show was played to say thank you to all of the donors that have made the Be Brave Ranch possible. View the slide show here.

Dianne Young closed off the event by thanking our sponsors, guests, donors and inviting each guest at each table had the opportunity to bid on a centre piece that was hand painted by fine artist Giselle Dennis. You can view those beautiful centrepieces here.

Thank you to Lynn Streeter and Simon McGibbon for taking photos to capture the day. You can view the pictures from the event on our Facebook page here.
