PROGRAM DETAILS
Program Structure
The Be Brave Ranch is a child-centred, family-friendly, one-year treatment program for children ages 8–12 and teens ages 13–16 who have experienced sexual abuse. The program includes four on-site stays, with ongoing support between visits, and combines evidence-based therapy with recreation and routine in a safe, camp-like environment. Children stay connected with their families throughout, and caregivers are part of the healing journey. Together, this approach helps children rebuild confidence, develop skills, and begin moving forward with hope.

Research & Outcomes
The Be Brave Ranch program is grounded in extensive medical and psychological research and was developed in partnership with researchers at the University of Alberta. It uses evidence-based approaches, including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, alongside other therapeutic modalities.
Clinical outcomes show significant improvements for children and teens in the program, including reductions in PTSD, anxiety, and depression, as well as gains in self-esteem, resilience, and overall wellbeing. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How long is the program?
The Be Brave Ranch program follows evidence-based best practices and is delivered in stages over a 12-month period. Children and teens participate in an initial stay at the Ranch, 26 days for ages 8–12 or 12 days for ages 13–17, followed by three additional 12-day stays throughout the year.
Between stays, children and caregivers continue their care through Be Brave Bridge, Little Warriors’ secure online program offering guided modules, coaching support, and ongoing connection to the clinical team.
Do you offer financial aid?
Little Warriors is committed to ensuring children and families can access intensive, multi-modal treatment regardless of their ability to pay. The Be Brave Ranch provides more than 200 hours of specialized care over one year, and while the true cost of treatment is significant, families are supported in accessing available funding and financial assistance. Through partnerships, community supports, and donor generosity, financial barriers are reduced so more children can receive the care they need to heal. Please ask our intake team about options when you apply.
What happens after treatment?
Healing doesn’t end when a child’s time at the Be Brave Ranch is complete. Families continue to be supported as they transition back into everyday life.
After treatment, children and caregivers stay connected through Be Brave Bridge, Little Warriors’ secure online program offering guided modules, coaching support, and continued skill-building at home. This helps families reinforce what they’ve learned, navigate challenges, and stay supported as they move forward.
When helpful, our team can also support families in connecting with community resources, schools, and local supports to ensure care continues in a way that fits each child’s needs. Our goal is to help children and families carry their progress forward with confidence, strength, and ongoing support.
