National Volunteer Week 2026
Every April, Canada pauses to do something important, say thank you.
National Volunteer Week, led by Volunteer Canada, is a nationwide celebration that recognizes the extraordinary people who give their time, energy, and hearts to causes bigger than themselves. This year's theme, Ignite Volunteerism, is an invitation to reconnect with community, find your thing, and show up for something that matters.
At Little Warriors, that invitation resonates deeply. Because behind every workshop delivered, every garden tended, every event that comes together, and every child who feels safe and supported, there is a volunteer who chose to show up.
And this week, we want to make sure they know how much that means.
The Hands Behind the Mission
Volunteers are not a footnote at Little Warriors. They are the foundation.
Our Board of Directors and committees bring leadership, governance, and strategic vision to everything we do. Their dedication ensures that Little Warriors remains a strong, accountable, and forward-thinking organization, one that is equipped to serve children and families for years to come.
At the Be Brave Ranch, a dedicated group of volunteers show up with their hands ready. They renovate, repair, clean, and garden, caring for the physical space where children come to heal. It is quiet, unglamorous work. And it is absolutely essential. Because the environment where healing happens matters, and these volunteers make sure it is a place of warmth, safety, and dignity.
Our Prevent It! Facilitators are carrying the mission beyond our walls and into communities across Canada. Workshop by workshop, conversation by conversation, they are equipping adults with the knowledge and tools to recognize child sexual abuse, respond with confidence, and help prevent it before it happens. Their reach is extraordinary and it grows because of their commitment.
And to every volunteer who has given their time at our events, setting up, greeting guests, and keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes, you are the reason our events feel the way they do. Warm. Welcoming. Full of purpose.
