Little Warriors Announces Elizabeth Smart as Keynote Speaker for the Annual Be Brave Luncheons

Little Warriors is proud to announce that Elizabeth Smart will serve as the keynote speaker for the Annual Be Brave Luncheons, taking place on May 6, 2026 in Edmonton and May 8, 2026 in Calgary.

Elizabeth Smart is a survivor, bestselling author, and one of the leading advocates for child safety and recovery in North America. Through her personal journey and decades of advocacy, she has become a powerful voice for resilience, prevention, and hope. Elizabeth is the founder of the Elizabeth Smart Foundation, an organization dedicated to ending sexual exploitation and violence through education, advocacy, and survivor support.

Her work has helped advance important safety initiatives and legislation, including awareness around the AMBER Alert system and child protection laws in the United States. She has also worked closely with the U.S. Department of Justice to help create survivor resources that support healing and empowerment.

Elizabeth is the author of multiple books, including the New York Times bestseller My Story, as well as Where There’s Hope and her most recent release, Detours: Hope & Growth After Life’s Hardest Turns. In her writing and speaking, she shares insights on navigating life after trauma, rebuilding identity, and finding purpose after adversity. Her story is also the subject of the recent Netflix documentary Kidnapped, which highlights her journey and advocacy work.

At this year’s Be Brave Luncheons, guests will also hear from a past graduate of the Be Brave Ranch, sharing how compassionate, trauma-informed care helped shape their path forward. Together, these voices will reflect this year’s theme: Past. Present. Future. reflecting on where we’ve been, showing up for the work happening now, and building hope for what lies ahead.

The Be Brave Luncheons bring together community leaders, partners, and supporters to raise awareness and critical funds for the prevention and treatment of child sexual abuse, including the life-changing programs at the Be Brave Ranch.
