Little Warriors’ Board of Directors, our Scientific and Clinical Oversight Committee, and staff leadership are actively assessing the potential gaps in existing treatment options for adults who continue to experience the effects of childhood sexual abuse. We are evaluating how Little Warriors’ existing programs for children and families might be adapted for adults. This includes identifying potential partnerships and collaborations with established care providers in this space. To support these efforts, we are conducting an environmental scan and scoping review to provide valuable insights for informed discussions with stakeholders and guide future decisions.

As part of this exploration, we recognize the need to better support young adults who may not have completed treatment before turning 18, or who find us after their 18th birthday. Addressing this gap is a key consideration as we assess the feasibility of adult programming.

To ensure any potential expansion into adult treatment is informed and evidence-based, the Little Warriors’ Board, Scientific and Clinical Oversight Committee, and staff are conducting thorough due diligence. This involves conducting an environmental scan, performing a feasibility study, creating a business plan, considering branding, exploring site options, and assessing governance models.

While we explore these new opportunities, our unwavering priority remains serving children, adolescents, and families in need of intensive, trauma-focused treatment, as well as delivering essential prevention programs and advocacy initiatives. With this commitment at the forefront, we are actively engaged in lifecycle planning for the Be Brave Ranch. This includes exploring the expansion of our programs and facilities for children, teens, and families, addressing capital improvement needs, and assessing the feasibility of new construction to enhance our capacity and impact.

Additionally, the successful outcomes of Little Warriors participants provide a significant return on investment, with research showing that every $1 donated saves $11 in policing, corrections, healthcare, and social services for addictions and homelessness, further emphasizing the vital impact of our work.
