Tim Hortons Smile Cookie Week Raises $50,516 for Little Warriors
Buy a Smile Cookie. Change a life.
It really is that simple.
From April 27 to May 3, all Tim Hortons locations in Sherwood Park participated in the annual Smile Cookie campaign, with 100% of proceeds going directly to Little Warriors and the Be Brave Ranch. When the final numbers came in, the result was nothing short of remarkable: $50,516.05 raised for children, adolescents, and families healing from the impacts of child sexual abuse.
And the community's enthusiasm didn't stop there. Demand for Smile Cookies was so high at several Sherwood Park locations that they sold out completely, and rather than disappoint a single customer; staff got creative and started decorating smiles on donuts instead. It's hard to think of a better symbol of what this community is made of.
"We are overwhelmed by the generosity of Sherwood Park," says Dr. Wanda Polzin Holman, CEO of Little Warriors. "Every cookie, and every donut represents someone choosing to show up for a child who needs it. This community never ceases to amaze us."
The funds raised will go directly to support programming at the Be Brave Ranch, Little Warriors' intensive, trauma-informed treatment centre located in Strathcona County, the only facility of its kind in Canada.
To everyone who bought a cookie, pre-ordered a box, volunteered their time, or simply shared the word, thank you.
ABOUT SMILE COOKIE
The Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign has been bringing communities together since 1996. What started with a single cookie raising funds for Hamilton Children's Hospital has grown into one of Canada's most beloved charitable campaigns, raising more than $130 million for local charities and community groups across Canada and the United States.
Every year, local Tim Hortons restaurant owners choose the charity that matters most to their community. In Sherwood Park, that charity is Little Warriors.
Last year, Smile Cookie raised $19.8 million for over 600 charities and community groups. This year, every cookie sold in Sherwood Park moves us forward.
WHY IT MATTERS
Child sexual abuse is more common than most people realize and far more hidden.
- 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys in Canada experience unwanted sexual touching before the age of 18
- Over 90% of survivors never tell anyone
- The average age of disclosure is 52 years old
That's decades of silence. Decades of carrying something alone. The Be Brave Ranch exists to change that, to give children and families a place to heal, the tools to move forward, and the knowledge that they are not alone.
Forward. That's where we're headed. And we need all of us to get there.
WHERE YOUR COOKIE GOES
Your Smile Cookie purchase directly supports the Be Brave Ranch, located right here in Strathcona County. The Be Brave Ranch is the only facility of its kind in Canada, a world-class, trauma-informed treatment centre offering intensive, in-person therapy for children, adolescents, and families impacted by child sexual abuse.
In 2025 alone:
- 63,000+ hours of therapy delivered to children and teens across Canada
- 250+ new and returning clients served
- 500+ lives impacted through Little Warriors' wraparound care
This is what healing looks like. And it's happening right here, in your community.
We are overwhelmed by the generosity of Sherwood Park. Every cookie, and every donut represents someone choosing to show up for a child who needs it. This community never ceases to amaze us.
